Insurance & Payment Options

Private Pay Practice

Currently, I am not in-network with any insurance plans and operate as a private pay practice. This allows me to provide specialized care without insurance restrictions, offer flexible session lengths, maintain your privacy, and focus on your needs rather than insurance requirements.

Using Out-of-Network Benefits

Many insurance plans offer out-of-network coverage that may reimburse you for therapy services. I can provide superbills with all necessary information for insurance reimbursement.

Payment Methods

  • Credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)

  • Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

  • Payment plans available on a case-by-case basis

Financial Accessibility

I believe that financial barriers shouldn't prevent access to affirming mental health care. I offer sliding scale spots (limited availability), payment plan options, and reduced rate emergency sessions for clients experiencing crisis (limited availability). I will do my best to find referals for anyone needing sliding-scale and/or insurance based spots as my sliding scale spots are currently full.

Good Faith Estimate

As required by federal law, I provide each client with a personalized Good Faith Estimate of expected charges for your medical services during our initial consultation. This estimate will be based on your specific treatment needs and goals.

What Your Personalized Estimate Will Include

Your individual Good Faith Estimate will be based on:

  • Your specific treatment goals and presenting concerns

  • Recommended session frequency based on your needs

  • Estimated treatment duration for your unique situation

  • Any additional services that may benefit your care

  • Current session rates at the time of your consultation

Note: We will review your personalized Good Faith Estimate together during your initial consultation, and I will update it if your treatment needs change significantly.

Practice Policies

Scheduling & Cancellation

  • Late cancellation fee: $[Amount] for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice

  • No-show fee: Full session rate for missed appointments without notice

Emergency & Crisis Support
  • Crisis situations: Call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or go to your nearest emergency room

  • Emergency sessions: Available at reduced rate for current clients in crisis

Frequently Asked Questions

Form and stethoscope

Do you accept insurance directly?

No, I operate as a private pay practice. However, I can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance company.

Passing Credit Card

Can I use my HSA or FSA for therapy sessions?

Yes, therapy sessions typically qualify for HSA/FSA reimbursement. Check with your plan administrator to confirm your specific benefits.

Package labeling

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

Yes, I have limited sliding scale spots available based on financial need. Please contact me to discuss your situation.

How accurate is the Good Faith Estimate?

The estimate is based on typical treatment patterns, but your actual needs may vary. I'll discuss any significant changes with you before implementing them.

What happens if I need to cancel a session?

Please provide 24 hours advance notice to avoid cancellation fees. I understand that emergencies happen and handle these situations with flexibility.

What happens if I miss multiple sessions?

Due to having a waitlist of people seeking care, if you no-show 2 sessions in a row without communication, you will be placed on a treatment pause. This allows me to offer your spot to someone else while keeping your place in line for when you're ready to re-engage with treatment.

What if I can't afford the full rate?

Please contact me to discuss options, including sliding scale rates, payment plans, or reduced-rate emergency sessions. Financial barriers shouldn't prevent access to care. If we cannot find a solution, I have a referral network that I can refer you to for other sliding scale and/or insurance-based practices.

Online payment for shopping on e-commerce platforms

When is payment due for sessions?

Payment is due at the time of service. I accept payment via credit/debit card or HSA/FSA at the end of each session, or you can set up automatic payment processing for convenience.
