My Supervision Approach

Study Group on the Grass

Collaborative Learning Model

I believe supervision should be collaborative rather than hierarchical. While I provide guidance and oversight, I also learn from your perspectives and experiences. This creates a dynamic learning environment where both parties grow.

Demonstrators

Social Justice Integration

All supervision integrates social justice principles and examines how systemic oppression impacts both clients and therapists. We explore how to create truly liberatory therapeutic relationships rather than perpetuating harmful systems.

Identity-Affirming Practice

I prioritize creating affirming supervision experiences for therapists from marginalized backgrounds. This includes understanding the unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ therapists, therapists of color, neurodivergent therapists, and those with lived experience.

Practical Skill Development

Supervision focuses on immediately applicable skills rather than abstract theory. We work on concrete interventions, specific language choices, and practical strategies you can implement with your clients.

I help supervisees develop strong ethical reasoning skills and the ability to navigate complex situations involving multiple marginalized identities, systemic barriers, and resource limitations.
