My Approach

Our first session is about getting to know each other and understanding what brings you to therapy.

I'll ask about your goals, your history, and what you need from me as your therapist.

You'll get a feel for my style and whether we're a good fit.

In ongoing sessions, we'll work collaboratively toward your goals using approaches that

fit your brain, your body, and your life. Sessions are 50 minutes via secure telehealth.

You control your environment: bring fidgets, move as needed, sit wherever you're comfortable, stim freely. No forced eye contact or neurotypical expectations. Between sessions,

we'll choose "therapy homework" together, but it'll be practices that actually fit your life, not impossible tasks that set you up to feel like you're failing therapy too.

MY VALUES IN PRACTICE
Systemic oppression is real.
If we aren't acknowledging the effects of homo/bi/transphobia, ableism, racism, sexism, classism, and sizeism on your mental health, we're leaving out a huge piece of the equation. Your anxiety and depression aren't just "chemical imbalances"—they're often reasonable responses to living in systems that weren't built for you.

I don't know everything, and that's okay.

I'm happy to learn more about your specific culture, community, or experiences. Don't hesitate to give me homework—your expertise on your own life matters.

Therapy is collaborative.

You're not a passive recipient of treatment. We're partners in your healing, and your input guides our work together.

Liberation and healing are connected.

Your individual healing matters AND the systems that harmed you need to change. I won't ask you to heal by accepting injustice.

WHAT I WON'T DO

I'm not a crisis service.

If you're in immediate danger, please call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or go to your
nearest emergency room. We'll create a crisis plan together as part of treatment.

I won't ask you to assimilate.

Therapy isn't about making you more palatable to oppressive systems or "fixing" your

neurodivergence, queerness, or body.

I won't judge your struggle with food by your weight.

My approach is weight-inclusive and HAES-aligned. Weight does not define if you are "sick enough" for help with an eating disorder or disordered eating.

I won't make you mask.

You don't have to perform neurotypical behavior, maintain eye contact, sit still, or

suppress your authentic self in our sessions.
